This is also called Order from Chaos, and is taught with a completely different performance in the magic book MAGIC, the Complete Course, by Joshua Jay. For the record though, I like your performance better! Like Brute Force (the trick where you cleanly cut to the aces) it demonstrates skill, not magic. Those kind of tricks I like much better.
Does the riffle shuffle in the beginning have to be perfect?
No. If it’s not perfect, you will only get adjacent diamonds.
